The Food, Feed and Water Microbiology Laboratory performs sensory analyses of food and feed, microbiological examinations of food, feed, samples from the working and production environment (surface swabs) and drinking water using microbiological methods, and the examination for the presence of residues of veterinary medicines in food and animal feed using screening microbiological methods. For microbiological examinations of food, animal feed, surface swabs and water, the Laboratory uses standard BAS ISO methods, which involve qualitative and quantitative examinations for bacteria, yeasts and moulds. Qualitative microbiological methods, which are based on the inhibition of microorganism growth, are used to determine the presence of residues of veterinary drugs. The Laboratory has participated in over 35 studies.

        The Laboratory for Chemical Tests and Residues carries out sensory analyses of food and animal feed, and performs physico-chemical tests of food and animal feed using physico-chemical, biochemical, optical and other methods, as well as tests for the presence of residues and contaminants in food and animal feed using screening and confirmatory methods.           The Pathology and TSE Laboratory performs diagnostic tests for animal diseases and zoonoses, and diagnostic tests on biological materials of animal and other origins using pathomorphological, pathological and immunohistochemical examinations, performs tests for transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSE), and determines biochemical parameters and the metabolic profile of animals. The testing for transmissible spongiform encephalopathies is performed using the ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) technique.               The Laboratory of Clinical Bacteriology, Mycology and Parasitology performs diagnostic tests for animal diseases and zoonoses, and diagnostic tests of biological materials of animal and other origins using bacteriological, mycological, parasitological and serological methods. The laboratory uses the technique of microbiological culture in its work, which includes the primary isolation and identification of bacteria, yeasts and moulds, microscopy, agglutination, serotyping, and determination of bacterial antimicrobial susceptibility by disk-diffusion method. - diffusion method, artificial digestion, coprological, urological, haematological, dermatological and pathological-anatomical methods for parasite diagnostics, morphological determination of mosquito species and genera, morphological determination of vectors, etc. The laboratory has participated in 11 proficiency testing\/interlaboratory comparisons (PT\/ILC scheme).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

                      The Centre for Animal Health and Food Safety is, in accordance with the Law on Scientific Research and Technological Development (Official Gazette of Republika Srpska 6\/12, 33\/14, 66\/18, 84\/19), is registered as a research centre, which, as a scientific research and\/or
                      The research and development organisational unit VIRSVB predominantly carries out basic and applied, and development research.
                      The activities of the Centre are:
                      \u2013 scientific research and development activities in the fields of science, animal health and food safety,
                      \u2013 epidemiological surveillance and monitoring of the epidemiological situation,
                      \u2013 monitoring the implementation of vaccination,
                      \u2013 allergological investigations by carrying out allergy tests,
                      \u2013 control of zoonoses,
                      \u2013 participation in the preparation and adoption of measures, plans and programmes for the diagnosis and control of infectious and parasitic animal diseases, as well as in the field of food safety,
                      \u2013 educating professional and the wider public on infectious diseases and food safety, and developing existing and new approaches to this issue,
                      \u2013 cooperation with VIRSVB service users, which includes contacting potential service users and arranging specific activities regarding future cooperation for the purposes of the contractual relationship, and analysing the cooperation carried out,
                      \u2013 proposing, developing and implementing scientific and professional projects, programmes, reports and studies,
                      \u2013 coordination of the preparation and publication of scientific and professional papers,
                      \u2013 conducting elections to academic ranks,

                        The Centre for Shared Services consists of two organisational units, the Department for Financial, Legal and Public Procurement Affairs and the Department for Sample Receipt. Through its work, the Centre for Shared Services contributes to the dynamism and positive trend of business operations in terms of rational and high-quality functioning, and continuous development, by performing a wide range of tasks that represent a significant segment of VIRSVB's work. In the current market conditions, the Centre for Joint Affairs makes great efforts to align the resources of VIRSVB with the strategy being implemented to improve business processes and activities, applying appropriate knowledge, skills, standards, quality measures, innovation, flexibility and other strategic tools that expand the resources and performance capabilities of VIRSVB, making it more competitive in the market.                           The Department for Financial, Legal and Public Procurement Affairs, as an organisational unit of the Centre for Common Affairs, ensures the lawful, designated and planned expenditure of financial resources, and the maintenance of liquidity, solvency, profitability and financial
                          of the position and stability of VIRSVB. The activity of the Department for Financial, Legal and Public Procurement Affairs is as follows:
                          \u2013 financial and accounting tasks, economics tasks, financial analysis and planning tasks, and statistical and analytical tasks
                          \u2013 organises matters with freight forwarders, customs, banks, insurance companies and agencies, as well as with auditors and actuaries
                          \u2013 prepares financial reports (semi-annual and annual),
                          \u2013 calculates and pays employees' earnings, direct taxes and all types of contributions within the remit of the RS Tax Administration (pension and disability insurance, health insurance, child benefit, unemployment insurance), contributions to the Solidarity Fund, contributions for the employment and professional rehabilitation of disabled persons,
                          \u2013 prepares, monitors and applies the calculation of corporation tax and withholding tax,
                          \u2013 organises the calculation and payment of hot meals, transport and other allowances under employment contracts as well as contracts for work and piecework.
                          \u2013 monitors and applies statutory and subordinate legislation in the field of finance, accounting, financial and material management and bookkeeping, taxes, International Accounting Standards (IAS), and International Financial Reporting Standards (MSFI), international auditing standards and valuation standards in the territory of Republika Srpska and BiH,
                          \u2013 carries out public procurement of goods, services, assets, equipment and works for the needs of VIRSVB
                          \u2013 participates in the planning and preparation of the annual procurement plan,
                          \u2013 maintains records and publishes legally required documents in the field of public procurement on the VIRSVB website,
                          \u2013 monitors and applies statutory and subordinate legislation in the field of public procurement,
                          \u2013 prepares and distributes reports related to procurement, as well as the necessary publications on the Public Procurement Agency of BiH Portal, the \u201ce-Procurement\u201d system and in the Official Gazette of BiH,
                          \u2013 participates in the preparation of VIRSVB's tenders in the public procurement procedure,\u00a0
                          \u2013 conducts a market survey for VIRSVB's participation in the public procurement procedure,
                          \u2013 carries out a check of the formal correctness of the public procurement request,
                          \u2013 mediates in clarifying the tender documentation for bidders,
                          \u2013 carries out correspondence with suppliers in procurement procedures,
                          \u2013 carries out general and personnel matters,
                          \u2013 represents VIRSVB before judicial and administrative authorities,
                          \u2013 prepares the general, status and organisational internal acts of VIRSVB,
                          \u2013 preparing documents on the rights and obligations of employees,
                          \u2013 performs duties in the areas of employment relations, organisation of work and office administration,
                          \u2013 reviews requirements, offers and contracts,
                          \u2013 deals with complaints and objections,
                          \u2013 provides expert and technical support to the bodies that conduct proceedings to establish breaches of work duties and obligations and material damage caused by employees at work or in connection with work,

                            The Sample Receipt Department handles the receipt of samples for testing at the Banja Luka site, and carries out the collection of samples for testing, issues test reports for the Banja Luka site, and manages transport for the needs of VIRSVB, including the use and maintenance of vehicles, performs technical maintenance of VIRSVB's movable and immovable property, performs the duties of storing and issuing VIRSVB's filing materials, performs cleaning and hygiene duties in VIRSVB's premises and associated outdoor areas, and monitors the physical security of the premises and compliance with the VIRSVB house rules.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
